Perth to Adelaide flights for Hahndorf

Hahndorf is a town in the Adelaide Hills. Adelaide Airport is where a Perth flight lands. Qantas is one airline on this route, with Virgin Australia and Jetstar. Read the time in the air on your booking. Adelaide’s clock differs from Perth when South Australia uses daylight saving. Check a map for the drive from the airport.

What we found

We checked the Qantas routes page and the SafeWork SA page. The Qantas page confirms Perth to Adelaide is a direct route, and the SafeWork SA page sets out South Australian time and daylight saving. Confirm your own flight with the airline. 2, 4

Which airlines fly Perth to Adelaide?

Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar fly Perth to Adelaide. Qantas lists Adelaide among its direct routes from Perth. Virgin publishes the route, and Jetstar’s newsroom says it flies Adelaide to Perth. 2, 1, 3

On 2 September 2025, Jetstar’s newsroom said it was increasing Adelaide to Perth flights from 26 October 2025. That page also lists how often the flights run, and what they cost. Neither figure is repeated here. 3

Virgin’s route page lists Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320 aircraft. That is the equipment Virgin names, not a promise for your date. 1

How long is the flight, and what is the time difference between Perth and Adelaide?

Read the time in the air on your booking. It is not the length of your arrival day, because the Adelaide clock is already ahead. 1

Adelaide is 1 hour 30 minutes ahead of Perth from the first Sunday in April to the first Sunday in October, and 2 hours 30 minutes ahead from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April. Perth does not use daylight saving. Your booking shows the Adelaide arrival time. 4, 6, 5, 1

SafeWork SA says South Australian clocks move forward one hour on the first Sunday in October, and back one hour on the first Sunday in April. Standard time there is 9 hours 30 minutes ahead of UTC. 4, 6, 5

Tourism Australia says Western Australia stays on Australian Western Standard Time, UTC+8, all year. The Reserve Bank lists Western Australia with the places that skip daylight saving, and South Australia with the places that use it. 6, 5

In 2026 those Sundays are 5 April and 4 October. This page was checked on 29 October 2026, so the gap that day is 2 hours 30 minutes. The gap is South Australia’s 9 hours 30 minutes, or 10 hours 30 minutes, ahead of UTC, minus Perth’s 8 hours. 5, 4, 6

Virgin’s route page shows Adelaide as 9 hours 30 minutes ahead of GMT. That matches standard time, and it does not show the extra hour of daylight saving. Use the Sunday rule, then read the local time on your booking. 1, 4

This is not a flight you can book. Daylight saving moves the Adelaide clock further ahead of Perth, and the flight time is added on that clock. Read the departure and arrival on your booking rather than a clock time from this guide. 1, 4, 6

Outside daylight saving the gap is smaller. Read the arrival time on your booking. This guide does not print a clock time for either half of the year. 4, 1

The flight home gives those hours back. Perth stays behind Adelaide, so the clock moves on by less than the time in the air. Your booking shows Perth local time on the way home. 1, 6

Can you fly in and get to Hahndorf the same day?

Yes, in most cases, if you land with daylight left and a car or a transfer is already arranged. Remember the Adelaide clock is ahead of Perth, so you land later in the day than the time in the air suggests. You still need time for bags and for the car. Check a map for the drive. 7, 1

  • Checked bags. The domestic claim hall is part of the wait before you leave the terminal.
  • A hire car, if you booked one. Virgin says car hire is on site at Adelaide Airport. The desks and the hand-back are in the car-hire guide.
  • The drive. The Hahndorf exit is signposted. Check a map for the drive from the airport.
  • Fatigue. Read the time in the air on your booking. The local clock has moved on further than that.

1, 7

Virgin says the airport is 7 kilometres from the CBD. Check a map for the drive into the city. The town page says Hahndorf is 28 kilometres south-east of Adelaide. That drive starts in the city, not at the terminal. Check a map for it. 1, 8, 7

Should your first stay be in Hahndorf or Adelaide?

Stay in Hahndorf first if you already have a hire car, the trip is short, and the Hills are the point of the visit. Stay in Adelaide first if you land after dark, you have no car, or you want some time in the city before the village.

A hire car from the airport can leave at the signposted Hahndorf exit and use the free parking at the far end of the main street. Without a car, the bus runs via the city, so a first stay in Adelaide is the simpler start. 7, 8

A transfer can still drop you in the village. Book it before you fly, and use the transfer notes on the Sydney guide.

Where should you stay in Hahndorf after a Perth flight?

A saved village stay puts your first stay in Hahndorf, just off the freeway. The three listings below come from the catalogue. Open the property page for the room, since no rate or review score is printed here.

Frequently asked questions

Does Perth have daylight saving?

No. Tourism Australia says daylight saving is not observed in Western Australia, and the time zone is Australian Western Standard Time, UTC+8, all year. The Reserve Bank lists Western Australia with the places that do not change their clocks. South Australia does change, which is why the gap with Perth grows by an hour in that season.

Is there an airport in Hahndorf?

No. Flights from Perth land at Adelaide Airport (ADL). Virgin says that airport is 7 kilometres from the Adelaide CBD. Hahndorf has no airport of its own. The Hahndorf exit is signposted. Check a map for the drive.

How far is Hahndorf from Adelaide Airport?

The Hahndorf exit on the South Eastern Freeway is signposted. Check a map for the drive from Adelaide Airport. The town page’s 28 kilometres start in Adelaide, not at the terminal. Add the trip from the airport onto the freeway.

Can I get from Adelaide Airport to Hahndorf without a car?

Yes. Take a bus via the city, or book a transfer to your address. The airport buses, the city connection and the transfer notes are on the Sydney to Hahndorf guide on this site. The village bus is on the Adelaide to Hahndorf bus guide. This page does not restate route numbers.

Do you get the time back on the flight home?

Yes. Perth stays behind Adelaide, so the return gives the hours back on the clock. The gap is 2 hours 30 minutes in daylight saving, and 1 hour 30 minutes otherwise. Read the time in the air on your booking. Your booking shows Perth local time on the way home.

Does the flights button search Perth to Adelaide?

No. The flights button is a ready-made link to a flight search site. It does not open a Perth to Adelaide results page, and it does not fill in Perth. Use the flights page on this site, which can start with Perth filled in. You still choose the dates. This guide does not print a fare.

The ground connection stays on the Sydney to Hahndorf guide. The Melbourne flights guide is a different city and a different decision. Search from Perth on the flights page, collect a car on car hire, and see accommodation with a spa if you want a bath on a later stay.
