Three airlines publish Brisbane to Adelaide, and the clocks do not move together. We conducted checks on the 11 pages in Sources and repeat only what they state. For example, Qantas lists Adelaide as a direct route from Brisbane. Queensland has no daylight saving. Contact the page named in Sources if a detail has changed. On 2 September 2025, Jetstar’s newsroom said it was adding Adelaide–Brisbane seats from 26 October 2025. The safe reading is that Jetstar flies the route and added seats from 26 October 2025. The seat count on that page is not repeated here. ⁠³

Adelaide Airport’s airline contacts page lists Jetstar, Qantas and Virgin Australia. That is the airport’s contact list. It is not a timetable, and it does not assign a terminal to an airline. ⁠⁴

Where do you check the Brisbane to Adelaide flight?

Read the time in the air on your booking. It is not the length of the day once you land. ⁠¹

The half-hour clock gap is separate from the time in the air. Your booking shows a Brisbane departure time and an Adelaide arrival time. Read both as local time at that airport. ⁠^{1, 5, 7}

Why does the time difference between Brisbane and Adelaide change?

The gap changes because South Australia uses daylight saving and Queensland does not. Queensland standard time is 10 hours ahead of UTC all year. South Australia’s standard time is 9 hours 30 minutes ahead of UTC, then one hour more while daylight saving is on. ⁠^{5, 6, 7, 8}

The Standard Time Act 1894 (Qld) is the statute for that 10-hour standard. A Queensland ministerial statement says the state does not use daylight saving. Queensland never moves its clocks for the season. ⁠^{5, 6}

SafeWork SA describes South Australian standard time and daylight saving. The Daylight Saving Regulations 2024 (SA) set the season from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April. Those pages also name the hour the clocks move. This guide does not copy that hour. ⁠^{7, 8}

Is Adelaide ahead of or behind Brisbane?

Adelaide is 30 minutes ahead of Brisbane during South Australian daylight saving, and 30 minutes behind Brisbane during South Australian standard time. The direction flips twice a year. It does not stay on one side. ⁠^{5, 7, 8}

This page was checked on 30 October 2026. That date sits after the first Sunday in October and before the first Sunday in April, so it falls in the daylight-saving half. On the day of this check, Adelaide is 30 minutes ahead of Brisbane. ⁠^{7, 8}
